Global Rubber & Tire Summit: The Race for 100% Sustainable Materials BANGKOK, THAILAND – Feb 10, 2026 – As global environmental regulations tighten, the race to produce a "carbon-neutral tire" has accelerated. This was the primary message at the Global Rubber & Tire Summit held in Thailand, the heart of the world's natural rubber production. Industry leaders signed a joint declaration aiming to increase the use of sustainable materials—such as silica from rice husk ash, dandelions, and recycled plastic bottles—to 40% by 2030. The summit also addressed the volatility of natural rubber prices. "Climate change is impacting rubber plantations, making supply chains vulnerable," noted Dr. Aravind Menon, a sustainability analyst. "We are seeing a massive push towards bio-synthetic alternatives that can match the performance of natural rubber without the environmental footprint."
